Creative Tornadoes

It's really strange how things work out sometimes.

So we had a rash of tornadoes in Norman Friday afternoon...in parts of town that haven't seen a tornado since 1928.  It wasn't a BIG tornado and most of the damage was minimal (uprooted trees and roof damage) but the security of feeling we're safe in the middle of town was squashed and it left a lot of people grappling for...something.

2nd Friday Gallery Walk was that evening and, unless the roads were blocked, I was opening up my studio.  Even if I was the only one.  Long story short, almost everyone that came into the studio rushed towards the creativity table. I guess people needed to decompress.  Until the storm hit, I didn't know what to offer people.  I decided on mini mandalas.

More people created art that night than at any other gallery walk.  I've been painting mandalas all day and started creating a mandala workshop for May.
