We opened our doors at The Studio for 2nd Friday Gallery Walk and it was GREAT!!! Jason and I set up a fun collaborative project near the door where people could choose a color and stamp a dot (or two) using a wine cork onto a large posterboard. The goal was for it to look something like this:

I had it gridded out and added a handful of dots to the board to get the process going. From the very beginning, people had their own ideas and I had to quickly let go of how I wanted it to turn out...which is a core value in effective collaboration. After the fellows in the picture below added their dots, they started a lively discussion about creative dissidence.
The event had a much greater turnout than anyone expected for a January Gallery Walk. I am excited about next month! There should be ALOT more art on the walls and the collaborative project will NOT involve a grid :)
